The Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com ventured north to the quarter mile Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Ind. where Matt Arrington turned his season around and scored his first feature win of the year.

Arrington started on the pole of the 20-lap feature taking the lead at the drop of the green flag. Racing was halted on lap two and again on lap four when first Rick Robinson and then Aaron Percell flipped. Neither driver was injured.

On each restart, Arrington continued to lead with Chris Mann moving up from his fifth starting position to challenge for the lead. Mann took over the point on lap ten with Arrington regaining the lead on lap fourteen.

Arrington, driving Terry Minor’s #76X Claas Lubricants / Columbus Hose & Fittings / Drain Master Service & Repair / Fast 5 R/C Raceway / Miller Trucking / X-tream Clean Products Lynch Honda, continued to lead the final seven laps taking the checkered flag ahead of Chris Mann, Matt Hedrick, Callie Wolsiffer and Ronnie Combs. Kevin Blue, Cody Kiewitt, Joey Paxson, Jon Steed and Tyler Wooten rounded out the top ten.

The win was Arrington’s third in MTQRL competition – all coming at the Montpelier Motor Speedway.

Perfect North Slopes heat winners were Matt Arrington and current point leader Ronnie Combs. Callie Wolsiffer was the Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Race, and Matt Hedrick the Steed Motorsports Hard Charger after advancing eight positions in the feature. Mechanical issues in practice sidelined Logan Arnold and he was presented the $50 Duane & Sonja Hard Luck Driver award. Hedrick received the Jackson Oil & Solvents gift certificate via a random drawing at the drivers meeting.

The 2015 season will resume on Saturday, August 29th, when the MTQRL three-quarter midgets compete as the support series to the USAC sprints at Smackdown IV at the Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Ind.
